winter's first slush

This is what it looked like around these parts yesterday.

This is what it looks like today. One might say the snow really makes the rosehips "pop".

But I say - my feet are wet!! I broke out the winter boots this morning. The ugly but shearling-lined winter boots which I wore through the rain, sleet and slush all last winter and kept my tootsies toastie. But today boots you let me down - you leaked!!
